chapter 15 paragraph

The hunting season began early november. Sam decided to go to the library so he could get exercise. Sam didn't go to the library cause there were hunters all over the place at there camps. The man who shot the deer gave up cause he couldn't find it. Sam did not have to smoke the last two deer cause it was cold enough that it would just freeze. Sam had trouble tanning the hides cause they kept on freezing.

Sam is in competition with the squirrels for walnuts and hickory nuts. Sam prepared his apples by cutting them in slices and putting them on a boulder in the sun. Sam had a halloween party and served cracked nuts, smoked rabbit, and crayfish. Sam found a ox bowl bow at the stream and there was wild rice inside of it. During the halloween party the raccoons found his cache of nuts and threw them on the floor and all over his bed. Sam did four things to get rid of the guests. 1st he laced the door the door shut. 2nd he made a bigger fire. 3rd he shouted at them. 4th he snarled at them. The last animal to leave was a bat. 

chapter 13 paragraph

He smoked fish and rabbit, dug wild onions by the pouchful, and raced september for her crops. The baron weasel was shedding his summer coat into his winter coat so he looked all moldy. All the animals were preparing for the harsh months/winter. Sam dragged clay up the mountain to build a fireplace. frightful got sick from the fireplace with all the smoke taking up all the oxygen in the tree. To correct the problem Sam cut out several knotholes to let air in and out of the tree.

When Sam takes a bath he uses a piece of bark with slippery elm on it. Then Sam heard a noise above him in the tree when he was taking a bath. It was a raccoon, over the next couple of days he began to be friends with him. The raccoon would dig for mussels for Sam. By then, Frightful had become the expert hunter catching rabbits, pheasents, and sparrows. Sam had figured out how to make a drink. It was called Sassafras tea. Sam was coming back to his home when he saw a figure of a man resting between the storage tree and his home. Sam called this man Bando. Sam cooked venison for Bando. By then Bando had already came up with a name for Sam. It was Thoreau. Bando stayed with Sam for a week to 10 days. In that period of time he had made a clay oven. Bando had to leave and he said he would be back by christmas. Before he bando left they made music with willow whistles.
